On December 1, Boden Municipality will release 16 new plots in Unbyn. The land release is part of the municipality of Boden’s strategic effort to develop both urban and rural areas.
Part of the area development that has been underway in the municipality of Boden for several years is to enable a wide range of housing environments throughout the municipality. Unbyn is one of several areas where there is great interest in new construction. The detailed plan has been preceded by citizen dialogues and consultations with residents in Unbyn. The dialogues concluded that this particular area would be a good place for a new residential area. The villagers were also involved in naming the street in the area.
The village offers a rural environment close to the city with all its advantages. Just 15 minutes from Boden and about half an hour from Luleå, you are close to open agricultural landscapes, well-preserved buildings, horse farms, preschool, school and a rich nature and outdoor life. The demand for plots in Unbyn has been high even before the release of the plots.
“We’ve had very high pressure every time we’ve released plots. So it will be great to see what happens next. It’s great to be involved in developing not only the city center but also the countryside”, says Anna Sikku, Land and Development Engineer at the municipality of Boden.
The Public Works Department has a busy schedule in the ongoing societal transition with the great need for housing, planning and demand for land.
“We are both from the countryside and are passionate about developing the countryside so that it can remain, as well as commercial and public services in the villages”, says colleague Ida Ahlbäck, Planning Architect.
The plots released in Unbyn have a minimum plot size of 1,200 square meters with a maximum building area of 300 square meters. The maximum building height is 4.2 meters, which corresponds to 1-1.5 level detached single-family houses. Water and sewage are brought to the plot boundary.
Plots are released and will be available for booking from 10:00 on December 1.
