There is a great need for housing in Boden. Housing construction is underway in several areas and even more construction is planned. Take a look at the current situation in Boden.
The Sveafältet Lundagård area, centrally located within walking distance of the center of Boden, has taken off with several parallel construction processes:
Biet
“The last house here will be occupied in May-June. We have a huge queue now and that motivates us to continue. It’s filling up as we go along and what’s happening here in Boden now feels good. We also have a land allocation agreement on the plot next door and the plan is to build three similar properties there as well, with another 45 apartments”, says Klas Rehndahl, co-owner of MBT Nord, which invests locally in Boden.
Sveavägen 5 and 7
In addition to this, Bodenbo is also building two new apartment buildings in the Nejlikan block at the entrance to Boden from Jokkmokk.
“The apartments in Sveafältet are scheduled to be occupied in August 2025. The apartments are mainly 1s and 2s. On Brogatan (Nejlijkan), the move-in date is February 1. There, it’s mainly 2 and 3-bedroom apartments”, says Johan Johansson, CEO of Bodenbo.
Tjärnbacken
“We at Lindbäcks and Cederfors see the potential in Boden and the new Tjärnbacken area, where our visions of a sustainable and vibrant residential community can truly become a reality. Here, we are planning centrally located homes with a mix of building types, including taller buildings as well as ground-level housing and townhouses, providing higher living quality and a socially sustainable neighborhood. Boden is growing, and Tjärnbacken, with its unique qualities, will become an important contribution to the municipality’s development and attractiveness. We are creating an area for everyone—diverse, close, and safe,” says Lars Bonander, CEO of Cederfors, and Fredrik Hemborg, CEO of Lindbäcks Projektutveckling.
BODEN 57:67 – (Åbergsleden, by the old defense museum) – Detailed plan to be made for the possibility of more housing. Pionjären fastighets AB plans to build 20-30 new homes in the form of terraced or semi- detached houses. A dialogue is also ongoing regarding the existing building at Sveavägen 12, as well as the detailed planning process for new housing in central Boden in the Aspen block (next to Elim Church).
1,322 New Apartments and 591 Houses
“We have solid planning readiness and are working towards even better preparedness,” says Ellinor Isaksson Larsson, Head of Planning and Development in Boden Municipality.
She estimates that the planning notices, consultations, reviews, and approvals currently in various stages will enable 1,322 new apartments and 591 houses. Additionally, there are already legally binding plans and land allocations in place.
