Boden municipality is now releasing municipal plots in Sörbyn and Gunnarsbyn for sale. The plots were presented in connection with the company breakfast in Sörbyn on May 17 and is now available for booking via the municipality’s website.
During Friday’s business breakfast in the countryside, which alternates between Boden municipality’s three rural nodes Edeforsbygden, Unbyn and Sörbyn, the municipal plots that are now released for sale were presented.
At a time when the whole region in general and Boden in particular need to grow, rural options play an important role as one of several pieces of the puzzle in providing living environments where people thrive, want to stay and move in or back.
“Part of the municipality’s goal is to have good planning readiness and to be able to offer vacant plots in different living environments and areas of the municipality”, explains Anna Sikku, Land and Development Engineer at the Urban Development Administration, Physical Planning.
The eight plots offered in Sörbyn and two in Gunnarsbyn, in a village with a rich community life and close to nature. The entrepreneurial spirit of the area is strong, with several innovative initiatives. A strong tourism industry creates an international atmosphere with many different nationalities. The area is one of the rural areas that Boden municipality is consciously investing in through a number of different initiatives, including service points, business development, village schools and more.
Prioritizing rural areas
“It means a lot that the municipality is prioritizing the countryside and releasing municipal plots here. It is also a signal to private landowners who have started to divide up plots to sell privately”, says Jenny Engström, business developer and operations manager at RÅEK (Råneälvdalsrådet i Gunnarsby församling ekonomiska förening).
In parallel with the municipal plot release, a dialog is also underway to assist local landowners interested in enabling new plots on their land.

The plots in Gunnarsbyn have a plot size of 1,074 square meters and 1,258 square meters. In Gunnarsbyn, the plots are centrally located, conveniently close to the village school, community center, service point, shop and more.
The plots in Sörbyn have a minimum plot size of 1,174 square meters. In Sörbyn, felling has been carried out to clear the view of the scenic Lake Avan and increase its attractiveness.
