To meet the growing need for skilled professionals driven by Boden’s green transition, the municipality has launched a new job matching service. The assignment was awarded to the Boden-based HR consultancy ByHart – and now, Hanna Müller is in place as the bridge between local companies and future employees.
As Boden grows and evolves, so does the demand for talent. The new service is designed to simplify the recruitment process for local employers by connecting them directly with candidates, helping to close the skills gap. It complements other ongoing initiatives aimed at securing a sustainable workforce – including the digital matchmaking tool, Charlie.
Supporting employers in transition
“We know many companies are facing major recruitment challenges. My job is to understand their needs, listen carefully – and help them find the right person,” says Hanna Müller, job matchmaker at ByHart.
The service is free of charge until a hire is made. In the meantime, ByHart offers support with everything from candidate selection and competence validation to interview planning and personalized matches based on each company’s needs.
“We can manage the entire recruitment process – or just parts of it. Many employers appreciate having support, especially when it comes to candidates with international backgrounds,” she adds.
Talent with drive and readiness to relocate
One of the key tools in the matching work is the municipality’s own candidate database, built through the initiative move to boden. More than 2,000 individuals have already submitted their CVs and expressed interest in relocating to Boden – many with in-demand skills in areas like industry, technology, IT, and healthcare.
“It’s remarkable how many highly qualified people have reached out. I’m already in contact with several who are actively looking to move here – from both Sweden and abroad. It shows that Boden is being seen as an exciting place with strong future potential,” says Hanna.
She also encourages employers to broaden their view when it comes to language and inclusion.
“Several candidates speak English as their working language, but they’re also motivated to learn Swedish. It might be a hurdle for some workplaces, but it’s also a great opportunity to bring in new perspectives and strengthen the work environment. Many of these individuals are highly competent and ready to start immediately.”
Boden is expected to grow, largely thanks to Stegra’s industrial establishment, but also through enhanced service provision, growing small businesses and more job opportunities in other sectors.
A familiar face with strong local insight
For many business owners in Boden, Hanna Müller is already a familiar name. She previously worked as a business developer at Boden Business Park, where she maintained close relationships with the local business community and developed a deep understanding of its needs and challenges.
“Having those relationships in place is a great advantage in this role. I know how local companies think and what they’re looking for – and my goal is to make it as easy as possible for them to find the right people.”
A returner with confidence in the future
For Hanna, the new assignment is more than just a job – it’s a personal journey. She grew up in Boden, but like many others, moved away as a young adult to “become something.”
“When I was younger, it felt like you had to leave Boden to succeed. Everyone I grew up with thought that way. So I left – and never imagined I’d come back.”
But her view of Boden has changed. When the opportunity came to be part of something meaningful in a rapidly developing community, she chose to return.
“Today, I feel the complete opposite. I want to be part of what’s happening here. I want to help create a Boden where my children can grow up with opportunity, energy, and a clear sense of direction.”
She sees her role as a chance to make a real difference – for both companies and the people eager to be part of the green transition.
“There’s so much talent out there – and I have access to it. So if you’re looking to recruit, just give me a call. It could be the first step toward something truly valuable.”
