Björknäsgymnasiet in Boden is now authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). This authorization means that the upper secondary school in Boden offers an international standard for a global education.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is recognized worldwide for its rigorous and comprehensive curriculum that promotes academic excellence, intercultural understanding and personal development. By offering the IBDP at Björknäsgymnasiet, students are given the opportunity to develop deep knowledge, critical thinking and entrepreneurial skills that are crucial for success both in academic studies at university and in future careers.

Meeting demand
In view of the increasing number of international families moving to Boden, the International School of Boden already has an international education programme, internationally trained and experienced teachers and a curriculum that is transferable and internationally recognized.
As of the current academic year, Björknäsgymnasiet offers an international preparatory program at upper secondary level. The interest has been high and the program very much appreciated.
As of the coming autumn semester, it is now possible to apply for the official International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. There is currently room for up to 24 seats.
The International Baccalaureate is a non-profit organization founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1968 with the aim of creating an international educational standard that provides access to universities worldwide.
At the International School of Boden, English is the main language and all subjects are taught in English according to a curriculum that is transferable internationally.In ordinary Swedish schools that call themselves international, a maximum of 50% of the teaching may be conducted in English.
The International School of Boden also offers pre-school and primary school, enabling international education from age 3 to 19 in Boden.
