Lindbäcks and the housing developer Cederfors from Gothenburg are starting a new partnership. Together they will develop around 200 homes at Tjärnbacken in central Boden.
“We want to create sustainable housing in a neighborhood that welcomes both old and new residents”, says Fredrik Hemborg, CEO of Lindbäcks project development.
The cooperation agreement between Lindbäcks and Cederfors is the next of several important steps in Boden’s ongoing housing development.
“The Lindbäcks-Cederfors partnership marks an important milestone for housing development in northern Sweden and demonstrates the commitment to creating attractive and sustainable living environments”, the two companies said in a joint press release about the collaboration and the initiative.
Tjärnbacken is located in the Sveafältet-Lundagård area near the center of Boden. The project includes around 200 new homes with a variety of tenures. The homes planned have three to five rooms with kitchen, 55 to 106 square meters big. Sales are planned to start in 2025.
Innovative homes
“Thanks to our innovative timber frame construction system, we can more than halve carbon emissions, making the project climate-smart. The natural surroundings next to Bodån and the proximity to the center will create a fantastic environment. We are very happy about the cooperation with Cederfors and that they want to contribute to increased housing construction in northern Sweden”, says Fredrik Hemborg, CEO of Lindbäcks projektutveckling.
Expanding in the north
Based in Gothenburg, Cederfors is a forward-looking player in residential development in western Sweden. Through the collaboration with Lindbäcks, they have found a strong partner to expand into northern Sweden.

Detailed planning of the area has been initiated by the municipality of Boden and consultations have been held with the public and authorities.
